Ghillie Dhu in the heart of Edinburgh's Westend is set over 3 unique floors offering a modern twist on a traditional Scottish Bar. Enter Ghillie Dhu and you will find out that there is really no other venue like it in town. With its beautifully restored vaulted ceiling, our first floor events auditorium offers a unique setting for a dining experience, ceilidh night, or for something less formal, join us in our magnificent main bar whether it be for food, drink or even just a look around, you can be assured of a warm welcome.
You can expect a strong Scottish influence throughout the building, serving local beers and ales, Scottish wines (yes we make them), malt whiskies and of course our menu which uses only the finest local produce sourced from local suppliers.
Our entertainment also carries a Scottish theme, with ceilidhs every Friday and the best Scottish covers bands on a Saturday on the upper level. In the main bar, you can expect to hear some of Edinburgh's top folk performers every night.
I look forward to welcoming you to Ghillie Dhu in the near future.

Welcome to the Ghille Dhu kitchens, the long wait is over and my kitchen team and I can't wait for you to sample our menu with some of the freshest ingredients Scotland has to offer. You can find Perthshire lamb chops, salmon from the islands of Shetland or succulent mussels from the west coast of Scotland. If you're just in for a steak sandwich you can be assured of the best quality sirloin Scotland has to offer. But please, don't take my word for it you have to try it for yourself.
I use only the best suppliers in my kitchen and nothing is accepted unless it's of the very best quality. The relationship I have with them is a long one and they know what I expect every time. Whether it be Simon Howie, arguably the best butcher in Britain, game or speciality goods from Braehead Foods, it can't be beaten.
We host many special events in Ghille Dhu and have developed some really exciting menus to compliment the great entertainment we have lined up. Whether it's a laid back tea dance or a full on ceildh you will be treated to the best of Scottish fayre in some of the most spectacular surroundings Edinburgh has to offer.
Like I said before don't take my word for it. Come along and enjoy our homemade burger or the flaky puff pastry that tops our steak pie, the clootie dumpling is not to be missed and I'm in no doubt you will love the Irn Bru ice-cream. I look forward to seeing you at the Ghille Dhu.
